Getting Started

Making the first step

We understand that making that first step to come for counselling can sometimes be daunting and takes a lot of courage,  You can give us a call or send an email and we can talk about how counselling may be able to help either yourself or a child within your care.

If we are unable to take your call straight away, please leave your first name and number and we will call you back as soon as we can.

What you can expect:

We will then take some details by asking you to fill out a screening form which will ask a few questions on behalf of the young person or yourself.  Ideally, if you are filling in the screening form for a child or adolescent it is important that the young person's voice is present.

Please remember that everything you say is confidential.

Once we have received the screening form, one of our psychotherapists will then call you to arrange the first session at a time and on a day suitable for you.

What happens next:

The first session allows you or your child to get a feel for what it may be like working with a designated psychotherapist. We can provide short and long term counselling. We have found that a minimum of 9 to 12 sessions has proven to be effective, with the offer of extending the sessions as required.
